How to Clean your Moccamaster Coffee Maker?

Cleaning your coffee maker is like cleaning your home or car, it's a necessity for a good life! It'll also keep your coffee tasting great one every single brew with your Moccamaster coffee maker.

Unplug the coffee maker Always ensure your coffee maker is turned off and unplugged before you start cleaning.

Clean the exterior of your coffee maker with a clean, moist cloth. Be sure to get every crevice and corner! Be extra cautious that no water gets into any electrical or heating components.

Disassemble and clean the machine Remove the carafe, brew basket and the lid. This will make it easier to clean each part in isolation. Using warm, soapy water and clean each part to your satisfaction.

Still seeing coffee oil stains from the carafe? No problem. Place a small amount of dishwasher detergent and warm water into the carafe. Leave it overnight and by the morning time, you can rub the coffee stains off with a clean cloth.

Note: carafes are NOT dishwasher safe!

Descaling Your Brewer Over time, mineral deposits from water can accumulate inside the Moccamaster's boiling element. This buildup can slow and eventually stop the flow of water and damage your Moccamaster!

To descale your machine, follow these steps we recommend following the manufacturing instructions of top descaling brands: Urnex or Durgol descaling products.

It's recommended to descale your Moccamaster every 100 brew cycles or at least every 3 months.

After descaling, you should always brew at least 2 full reservoirs of water through your coffee maker to clear out any remaining descaling residue.

Reassemble the machine Once everything has been clean and dry, set your Moccamaster Coffee Maker back to action!
