We purchased this for a new property that we recently acquired that doesn't have any central heating or cooling. I was a bit wary of the DIY nature of this, as I've never done this kind of work, and was worried how difficult it would actually be. To our surprise, we were able to pretty much install the system in a matter of a few hours. We had to schedule an electrician to hook it into the power supply, but the basic installation of the two inside units and the outside unit was done by me and my dad alone. It was really a simple process with lots of instruction provided. We are super happy with the result, and I highly recommend this system to anyone. After we've paid this one off, we're planning to add some of these to our main home so that we can stop installing and removing window A/C units every year!

Easy installation process with a little planning ahead for placement of outdoor unit to accommodate the lineset lengths. Didnt rush through the install process and made sure to read the instructions step by step and also watched a few video's on youtube to get a visual on certain install procedures. Ran 8awg wire at 50' with a 2-pole 40a breaker and an ac disconnect. Was going to install the outdoor unit on a wall mount bracket but poured a 2'4' concrete pad instead. Plan on raising the unit off the pad with rubber spacers. I highly recommend this d.i.y. unit to anyone with basic mechanical skills.

This setup is awesome! The installation is pretty easy and almost foolproof. The performance is better than I had expected and it's extremely quiet. I'm actually planning on redoing the HVAC on both of my son's homes with products from them in the next few months. I am renovating a small cottage home that was built in 1957.
The attic is only about 2' tall at the apex and is very little room to run duct work.
The house originally had 3 window units and in wall heaters that we never used due to in my opinion being major fire hazards.
We saw this unit and decided to give it a try since I had already torn out the walls and needed something to replace the old window units.
I have had some experience with HVAC and electrical work so I didn't find it that difficult to run the necessary tubing or wires although it was still a chore to get it routed through the attic and out to the outside compressor unit. The only complaint I have is there is no good way to secure or hide the excess tubing that is left between the units. I will probably have to build a box to hide them so it doesn't look so unsightly.
The operation of the units themselves are excellent? I did have one issue with one of the wifi controllers not working but customer service was very quick in sending me a new one and all is well. I love the ability to control the units remotely since this will be a weekend / summer home but I still need to provide some climate control to prevent mold due to the humidity buildup.
In the last month of having these units installed my electric bill has decreased drastically now that I don't have to run a window unit constantly to maintain the humidity and temperature in an appropriate level.
