Convenient Design for Egg Grills. The Arteflame Big Green Egg inserts include three 3" risers for elevated grilling. The insert sits just below the felt gasket of your Egg, providing easy access and convenience. The Kamado versions of the Arteflame insert have locating holes to be used on top of the flexible cooking rack.

Carbon Steel vs. Cast Iron. Carbon Steel and Cast Iron are both suitable for cooking and grilling. Carbon Steel contains approximately 1% Carbon, while Cast Iron contains 2%-3% Carbon. The carbon content affects the grain structure of the metal. Cast Iron is prone to cracking and brittleness when heated unevenly, making it unsuitable for grill inserts. Arteflame cooktops, inserts, griddles, and Burger Pucks are exclusively made of Carbon Steel.

Note: When your grill arrives, the cooktop will be silver (unseasoned). It will develop the dark color shown in the images once it has been seasoned and used several times.
