• Carbon Steel vs. Cast Iron: The Preferred Choice. Carbon Steel is the preferred choice for Arteflame cooktops, inserts, griddles, and Burger Pucks. Carbon Steel contains approximately 1% Carbon, while Cast Iron contains 2%-3% Carbon. Cast Iron is susceptible to cracking due to uneven heating and the presence of carbon, making it less suitable for grill inserts. Arteflame products are exclusively made of Carbon Steel for superior performance.
